In collaboration with the Directorate General of Customs, Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) enforced Ministerial Decision No. (519/2022), prohibiting the importation of plastic bags in Oman from September 1st, 2024.
Since then, a new rule has been enforced stipulating a ban on the circulation of all plastic and non-environmentally friendly shopping bags in local markets, effective January 1st, 2025.
