Muscat – The Coast Guard Police Command, in coordination with the General Department for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle more than 180 kilograms of illegal drugs into the Sultanate of Oman.
The seized substances include crystal meth, hashish, and marijuana. The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals of Asian nationalities onboard the smuggling vessel.
Authorities confirmed that legal proceedings are currently underway against the suspects.
The Royal Oman Police has reiterated its commitment to protecting the nation from the scourge of drug trafficking and continues to strengthen surveillance and enforcement operations along the country’s coastline.
